India is a land of divine beauty and this beauty is somehow contributed my various monumental structures present here which makes it a famous destination for tourists. India is ahead to register 35 UNESCO sites in the country. And these ancient structures take us peep to great history of Indian culture and it’s past rulers who built these forts and palaces for their safety and some to glorify themselves.
Further in the past only taking inspirations from these immensful structures, some made other massive structures which are also glorifying India and has got recognition at global level.
One of these structure is AKSHARDHAM TEMPLE. The sight of this only will make your jaw drop and fill you with awe.It showcase India’s incredible structural art.
They are very beautifully sculptures giving a resemblance of Ajanta and Ellora caves to me and both of them cannot be compared as each one of them has unique identity. It takes your almost half day to explore both the temples individually.
Akshardham temple history devotes its existence to Lord Swaminarayan. Thousands of people and volunteers have invested their money and service to establish this miraculous architecture of Akshardham that explores the rich culture of religion. There are two main Swaminarayan Akshardham temple i.e. one located in Delhi and one in Gandhinagar. I have been to both of them.
Delhi: The Akshardham situated in Delhi is very vast architecture which is the third-largest Hindu temple by area (240,000 m²) in the world. The immense greenery inside the campus makes it very interesting place for every age group. The temple was officially opened on 6 November 2005.The uniqueness of this temple is it’s thematic garden, three exhibitions and water show. The three exhibitions are Sahajanand Darshan (Hall of Values), Neelkanth Darshan (an IMAX film on the early life of Swaminarayan as the teenage yogi, Neelkanth), and Sanskruti Darshan (cultural boat ride). All of these have a very audience bound environment inside.
The main attraction of the complex is Akshardham Mandir(Temple). It is totally made up of Rajashtani Pink stone which is carved with dancers, flaura, fauna, musicians and deities. Under the temple dome the idol of Swaminarayan is seated whome this temple is dedicated which is surrounded by images of the faith’s lineage of Gurus depicted either in a devotional posture or in a posture of service. Each murti is made up of paanch dhaatu or five metals in accordance to Hindu tradition. The temple also houses the murtis of SitaRam, Radha Krishna, ShivParvati, and LakshmiNarayan.
The Water fountain show is the most attracted activity in the complex. It comprises Multi-color lasers, video projections, underwater flames, water jets and surround sound in symphony with lights and live actors produce a captivating and inspiring presentation.Whole of this is depicted in eight-petaled lotus shaped yagna kund.
Gandhinagar-The foundation stone-laying ceremony for the Akshardham mandir was conducted by Pramukh Swami on 14 December 1979, and the foundation was completed in 1981. It is the precursor of Akshradham Delhi ,which is constructed on it’s basis in a large area with large capacity.
Akshradham Gandhinagar situated in the capital city of Gujarat state also states a glory of immense architecture of India. It also has the same three exhibition and water show but it doesn’t comprises the boat ride.It has children game slides inside the complex.
The water show of Akshradham Gandhinagar is tremendous. The whole water show ,showing the one incidence of Nachiketa life is eye bounded. The whole show is shown over the fountain through lights and sound. It also uses the Multi-color lasers, video projections, underwater flames, water jets and surround sound in symphony with lights and live actors produce a captivating and inspiring presentation.
In other sense, Akshradham Delhi is complete replica of it by some more features added to it.
Both are enormous beautiful structures situated in different parts of India and one should visit both of them. Each one has distictiveness hidden in them related to area, water show, exhibition and temple.
So plan your next visit to these.
